What it's like to be a Colts fan...

If I had to sum it up in one word I would say stressful. I mean it’s an absolute shit show one week, then the following week everyone is clicking. Touchdowns are being scored, and field goals are going through the uprights. It hasn’t been all bad though.
I started really paying attention and watching the Colts, football in general really, in about 2003. I was about 10, and I remember being at my grandparents house watching the game with my grandpa. The guy was a huge colts fan. He even bought a golf cart and painted it Colts blue with “Indianapolis Colts” in white writing on the side. Pretty dope actually. Anywho, 2003 was Peytons first MVP season. He was slinging the ball all over the field. It was truly beautiful to watch.
I would become a huge fan, with my fandom growing stronger each season. They had some success: two super bowl appearances, one super bowl victory, Peyton won four MVPs, and they were the most successful team that decade. It was glorious. I was happy, the team was happy, we were happy. Then it fell to shit…
Peyton has neck surgery and misses the entire 2011 season, the Colts almost mess up getting the number one pick (eventually becoming Andrew Luck) thanks to Dan Orlovsky, and they hire Ryan Grigson as the GM. I enjoyed Chuck Pagano as the head coach but he just couldn’t get it done. Grigson rode the coattails of Bill Pollian and had some success in his first two seasons. Andrew Luck gets hurt, retires at age 29 out of NOWHERE... and it’s all downhill from there. It has been downhill since about 2014.
There seems to be a common trend of players retiring early, the Colts not extending contracts, free agent BUSTS, and idiocracy. It’s extremely annoying. The Colts seem to be on the up and up now with Frank Reich and Chris Ballard. With these two guys leading the way, hopefully the colts can get back to who they used to be and stressful can switch to joyful.
I shouldn’t sit here and complain. There are a couple teams that are consistently worse than the Colts. Just to name a few: Browns, Bengals, Jets, Jags, Redskins. You get it.
