Clyde Edwards-Helaire has potential to be one of the sneakiest RB draft choices in this year's draft. You hear the same three names when people talk about RBs in this draft: Taylor, Swift, and Dobbins. All fair, they are very good at their position. People often recognize Edwards-Helaires talent, but underestimate him because of his small frame, and lack of speed. You constantly hear ”he has small arms, and won’t make it as an interior runner in the nfl.”

Clyde Edwards-Helaire “CEH” in his junior season rushed for 1,415 yards and 16 touchdowns on 215 carries, averaging 6.6 yards per carry. He did all that in an offense that was well known around the country for having a prolific passing game with the projected number one overall pick leading the way. Don’t get me wrong CEH benefited from the passing game, he saw a little bit of action there. During his junior season he rang up 453 yards and a touchdown on 55 receptions. You look at think “One touchdown? One touchdown? The guy writing this blog doesn’t know shit. CEH isn’t a well versed offensive weapon like he says. The guy only had ONE touchdown. Burrow threw for 60, and this bloke only got one of those 60? C’mon son.” Burrow has 60 but he also had Randy Moss’ son at TE, Justin Jefferson on one side (another top weapon), and Ja’Marr Chase, who won the BiletnikoffAward for best WR in the nation, on the other side.

You may be right, I might not know a lot. I’m not an NFL expert. I don’t scout college football players every day of my life, hell I don’t even think of football every day of my life. However, I do have a masters degree (subtle mention), and I know how to use a calculator. If you look at those receiving numbers you will notice that CEH averaged 8.24 yards per reception. Let me say it again. He averaged 8.24 yards per reception.

Keep saying he lacks speed, has small arms, or has average power. What he does have is dependability, balance, elusiveness, quickness, and his yards after catch are almost involuntary. Just another fun fact if you weren’t sold, or still don’t think NFL teams can depend on him. 36% of his carries were either for first down or

touchdown in 2019. Mic drop
